Tattoo Questions
Frequently Asked Tattoo Questions
When can i see my design for my tattoo?
When booking a custom piece this decision is up to the artist. It is not uncommon for them to wait to show you the piece on the day of the appointment. Any changes can most often be altered right then and there at the clients request.
How can I best prep for my appointment?
Get a good nights sleep, stay hydrated, dress for the tattoo’s location by wearing baggy clothing or bringing options. Make sure you’ve eaten before your appointment. In addition, bringing water and a snack is never a bad idea.
Are tattoos supposed to scab?
Scabbing is a normal part of the healing process. Although, excessive scabbing can be a sign of a problem.
How do I know my deposit is going to a legit artist/business?
Tattoo scamming is a problem nationwide. To help prevent being scammed, do some research, especially when booking through social media. Check if the shop website lists the tattooist at the shop. In addition, check that the website links to the tattooist’s social media profile. Potential clients should be wary to put money down if the artist isn’t open to having an in-person consultation. Generally speaking, most artists won’t ask for a deposit over $200. You’ve never met them, so don’t be afraid to ask too many questions.
Is it normal for my tattoo lines to feel raised?
It is common for new tattoos to feel raised. The process of tattooing will result in some swelling. But over time, it will heal, and the raised feeling will go away.
What should I do to care for my tattoo while it’s healing?
We have a whole page dedicated to aftercare, so please check that out. Additionally, talk to your tattooist about aftercare.
